The New Moon Theory and the CMC (Hizb ul Ulama and Jamiat ul Ulama)
The CMC proudly refutes, rejects and many a times ridicules the 'proven' principles of astronomy as one can see below in their monthly calendar, yet every month displays a calendar based on 'astronomy'!
AMAZING how some people who appear to curse the "New Moon Theory" calculations ARE actually whole heartily embracing the same "New Moon Theory" calculation of the Saudi Ummul Qura calendar.
Can we remind Sheikh Yaqub Miftahi and his colleagues at the CMC that:
No moon was sighted in Saudi Arabia for the month of Jumada al Ukra, the CMC simply followed the Saudi Ummul Qura calendar, which according to the Ummul Qura Committee’s own admission is not based on ‘visibility’: see quote below
“The Um Al-Qura calendar is both the formal and civil calendar of the Kingdom, but it may not match the actual visibility of the crescent [moon] which is necessary to start the religious months.”

The CMC had to complete 30 days for Jumada al Ukra as they now openly follow the NEW MOON formula of the Saudi Ummul Qura calendar.
Despite 30 days being completed no moon was sighted in Saudi Arabia. Nor was it sighted anywhere else to the east of UK on that day.
Yes, on the following day, Saturday the 11th of May which was the 30th of Rajab according to the 'Ru'yah' or actual sighting based calendars, after Maghrib Salah many people even here in the UK people saw the hilal of Rajab.
Which proves that the date advertised by the CMC is wrong, brothers and sisters who wish to keep the fast of Beedh be careful, do not follow the astronomy based Ummul Qura calendar, rather follow a 'Ru'yah or actual sighting' based calendar. Which Alhamdulillah is being propagated by the 'Wifaq ul Ulama'
