Therefore the Shura of Ulama at Wifaqul Ulama decided that 30 days of Dhul-Hijjah should be completed and the month of Muharram 1437 shall begin from Thursday, the 15th of October 2015.

On the evening of 12th of November 2015, attempts to sight the Moon in Britain were unsuccessful, however Moon was successfully sighted in Morocco and Wifaqul Ulama received credible Shariah compliant news. Therefore the Shura of Ulama at Wifaqul Ulama decided that the month of Safar 1437 shall begin from Friday, the 13th of November 2015.

On the evening of 11th of December 2015, attempts to sight the Moon in Britain & Morocco were unsuccessful. Therefore the Shura of Ulama at Wifaqul Ulama decided that 30 days of Safar should be completed and the month of Rabiul Awwal 1437 shall begin from Sunday, the 13th of December 2015. South Africa were a day behind but sighted the Moon (next day) so they also started Rabiul Awwal 1437 from Sunday, the 13th of December 2015.

Most of Britain was heavily overcast today and no reports of Moon Sighting were recieved. There were also no reports of Moon Sighting from over 280+ locations in Morocco. Wifaqul Ulama (Shura) has therefore decided that 30 days of Jumadal-Aula will be completed and Jumadul Ukhra 1437 will begin from Friday the 11th of March 2016.

Moon was also successfully sighted in Morocco & South Africa and Wifaqul Ulama received credible Shariah compliant news. Therefore the Shura of Ulama at Wifaqul Ulama decided that the month of Rajab 1437 shall begin from Saturday, the 09th of April 2016.

Wifaqul Ulama advises British Muslims that attempts to sight the Moon in Britain were unsuccessful. However, we have received positive authenticated news about Moon being successfully sighted in Morocco & South Africa. Wifaqul Ulama Shura have therefore decided that the 1st of Islamic Month of Sha’baan 1437 will be Sunday the 08th of May 2016.
