The Hilaal for Muḥarram 1442 was NOT sighted in the designated zone for United Kingdom which also includes Morocco.
Therefore, the Islamic month of Dhū al-Ḥijjah1441 will complete 30 days and Muḥarram 1442 will begin after sunset on Thursday, the 20th of August 2020. The first day of the new Islamic year will be on Friday, the 21st of August 2020.
The day of Ashurah (10th Muḥarram) will be on Sunday 30th August

Therefore, the Islamic month of Ṣafar 1442 has begun after sunset on Friday, the 18th of September 2020. The first day will be on Saturday, the 19th of September 2020.

New Moon for Rabīʿ al-ʾAwwal 1442 was NOT sighted anywhere in the UK due to cloudy weather. However the Hilaal for Rabīʿ al-ʾAwwal 1442 was sighted in Morocco. Therefore, the Islamic month of Rabīʿ al-ʾAwwal 1442 has started. The first day will be Sunday, the 18th of October 2020
